I'm Jodie and I'm the maker & everything else of my Jewellery store, Hibiscusdays Jewellery.
I've had a love of beads, rings & shiny things since a very young age. I began making jewellery after my auntie in London took me to the largest jewellery supplies & bead shop I'd ever seen. I still have some of the beads I bought that day and that was over 30 years ago!
The name Hibiscusdays was founded when I moved to Hawaii after travelling in my early 20's and another significant woman and kindred soul to me suggested I should set up a business to begin selling my creations. Hibiscus being one of the most magnificent and mesmerising flowers I'd laid my eyes upon on the Island and fittingly it's state flower was what I decided it should have. At that time I didn't know how long I would stay in Hawaii so it became Hibiscus-days!
I took a block of classes in silversmithing at the Honolulu Academy of Arts and it wasn't long before I was hooked.
I opened a shop on Etsy while I was pregnant and by the time I had our daughter I was able to work from home making an income and stay home with my child, something that I've always been so grateful for. I continued my business after I moved back to my origins in Scotland years later.
Since then I've had a wonderful couple of days furthering my skills in beautiful Wales with Lucy Copleston and have set up my nifty little studio in Perthshire, Scotland.
Some days I could eat, sleep and dream about anything jewellery related!
